Out on the Town: The Beauty Bash Event

Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the Beauty Bash event put on by SophiChic. The event took place at Kai Restaurant in Richmond, Virginia which is in the fun neighborhood of Shockhoe Bottom. The event was very nice offering an array of services including: mini manis, eyebrow threading, chair messages, lash extensions, and makeovers. There were vendors there as well offering jewelry, makeup, and sweet treats.....I loved the cake balls on a stick! I had a blast and it was so nice to meet new people and network.
You can read more about the back story of the Beauty Bash events at http://thebeautybash.wordpress.com/about/. The owner Brandi says the event is designed to provide women with an evening of pampering, health and wellness, and a stylish shopping experience. Every guest received gift bags and there were also raffles and fabulous door prizes. The event also raised money for the YWCA of Greater Richmond - we partied with a cause!
Take a look at some of the fun:

Information about Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy Bath Salts

Information about Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy Bath Salts
The first product I ever created was the Dead Sea Salt Bath Salts. I created the salt soak at a time when I was in a period of healing my body from the inside out. I researched the benefits of Dead Sea Salts and started soaking many times a week.

There are many benefits to soaking in Dead Sea Salts and I am always happy to hear the reports of how Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy Salts have helped people.
For soaking: I recommend bathing three times weekly, soaking for at least 12 minutes.

As a Foot bath: I recommend adding a cup of Salt to a tub of warm water as a balm for aching feet.
The main ingredients of Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy Dead Sea Salt Soaks include Dead Sea Salt and Epsom Salt. The benefits of each are described below.
Dead Sea Salt: Salts mined from the Dead Sea in the Middle East, are rich in minerals and help draw impurities out of the skin. The Dead Sea is a popular center for wellness and health today, due to the fact that Dead Sea salts have been reported to have the following benefits:
Rheumatologic ConditionsDead Sea salts can be effective in therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Osteoarthritis. The minerals are absorbed while soaking, stimulating blood circulation.

Common Skin Ailments – Research has demonstrated that skin disorders such as acne and psoriasis are relieved by regular soaking in water with added Dead Sea salt. The National Psoriasis Foundation recommends Dead Sea and Dead Sea salts as effective treatments for psoriasis. One study concluded that the high concentration of magnesium in Dead Sea salt was instrumental in improving skin hydration and reducing inflammation.

Allergies - The high concentration of bromide and magnesium in the Dead Sea salt can relieve allergic reactions by cleansing and detoxifying.

Epsom Salt: Researchers and physicians report that raising your magnesium levels may improve heart and circulatory health, reducing irregular heartbeats, preventing hardening of the arteries, reducing blood clots and lowering blood pressure.

Epsom Salts flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances. Epsom Salts also improve nerve function by regulating electrolytes. In addition, calcium is the main conductor for electrical current in the body, and magnesium is necessary to maintain proper calcium levels in the blood.

Epsom Salts relieve stress. Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium is necessary for the body to bind adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of well being and relaxation.

While increasing your magnesium levels, our Soaks also deliver sulfates, which are extremely difficult to get through food but which readily absorb through the skin. Medical research indicates sulfates are needed for the formation of brain tissue, joint proteins and the mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract. Sulfates also stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and help to detoxify the body's residue of medicines and environmental contaminants.
I encourage you soak your body and/or your feet on a regular basis to experience wonderful benefits inside and out. For a full description of Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy Dead Sea Salts, please visit: www.etsy.com/shop/SweetTrinity.
Until next time…be sweet! ;)

DIY Lip Scrub

Hi all! ;)

If you all are like me, you like to prep your lips for your favorite lipsticks by using lip balms, creams, and also lip scrubs. I exfoliate my skin every week and I like to exfoliate my lips also but I don’t like to use the same mixture on my lips as I do on my skin because of the flavor or scent left behind! I make my own lip scrubs and you can too – it is very easy.

I put approx. 2 tablespoons of sugar in a teacup and mix a little honey and coconut oil. I like coconut oil better than olive oil or sunflower oil on my lips because there is no bad taste left on my lips! I also love sugar on my face and lips moreover than salt because it is very gentle.

I also like to mix a little flavor oil – not to be confused with fragrance oil. Fragrance oil is used in lip balms and is safe to use on your lips. Fragrance oils are not safe to use on your lips so if you don’t have flavor oil, you can easily skip this step.

I mix all the ingredients together and gently, in circular motions, exfoliate my lips and surrounding lip area. My lips feel super smooth afterwards and prepares them for long lasting beautiful lip color!

By making your own skin treatments, you avoid the chemicals that are often found in over the counter products. It is also simple to make and most of us have the ingredients we need in our kitchen cabinets. Try for yourself and let me know how this method works for you.
Until next time…be sweet! J
