Monday Momentum – Have Faith!

Are you exercising your faith? Do you have faith without works – you know that’s dead! To exercise your faith means to take the actions and the steps you have control over and believe in the rest! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
Step out in faith and believe in yourself! All things are possible but you have to do what you can do and let faith carry you the rest of the way.
Wishing you a fantastic week and have faith!

Henna as a Natural Hair Coloring Alternative!

Have you ever considered using henna to color your hair? Every since I cut the permanent relaxer off and started to grow my hair out in its natural state, I have considered natural ways to color my hair. I don’t mind my natural color at all but I do mind the wiry little gray hairs that are determined to make their home around my temples! Lol! ;) I have been using the Clairol touch up kit to cover them because I only have gray hair on my hairline but I still found the fumes of the color to be bothersome not to mention concern about the affects of using a chemical color. So as I typically do when I am interested in a topic, I turned to Google! ;) I read so many blogs and posts that raved about the conditioning effect of henna and how it colors gray hair that I decided to give it a try. After my Google research, I polled my friends to see who may have tried henna before. I lucked up and found out that one of my friends uses henna on a regular basis and she was able to give me specific step by step instructions (you never know what someone can share with you until you ask!). So I headed to the store, bought the henna, bought the ingredients to mix the henna and enthusiastically went home Friday night to start the process.
The process is actually a two day ordeal of mixing, sitting, waiting, applying, waiting, and finally rinsing. The henna mix requires development of at least 12 hours and it should remain on your head for another 4-8 hours. So needless to say, it took some time before I was able to see if my little gray friends would be covered.
I am happy to report that it worked! I actually love the red undertone the henna gave my hair and my hair was super soft afterwards. Although the process is time consuming, the results are very good and using henna is a much safer method to color my hair. I’m sold!
If you use or have used henna, please share your experiences. Until next time..Be Sweet! ;)

Monday Momentum - Think Positive!

Happy Monday all! Today’s Monday Momentum is thinking positively. When you look at your life circumstances and the events surrounding your life, are you thinking on those things positively or negatively? I have been a witness that when I think positive and expect good things – those things seem to come to pass. Conversely, when I think negative and stay in a negative place too long, I start to see negative things around me and not observe the good at all. I really believe that we attract in our lives what we think about and meditate on so why not practice positive thinking!
Not only is positive thinking important, surrounding ourselves with people who think positive is important also. When I surround myself with people who see the glass ½ full instead of ½ empty, it rubs off on me. When I am around people who are naysayers and always thinking the worse, that rubs off on me too so I try my darndest to keep those type of folks at bay! ;)
I wish you all a positive and miracle filled day! Until next time…Be Sweet! ;)

My Brother's Bahama Wedding!

Hi all! I hope all is well with everyone reading this post! I have been away for a while attending my brother's wedding celebration in the Bahamas! The wedding was breathtaking and I had a blast with my family -- laughing, eating, suntanning, and just simply hanging out! We had such a great time! I would recommend the Bahamas as a sunny getaway and I look forward to going again. See why....
