Monday Momentum – There is a Season for Everything!

When you think about life – you are made keenly aware that there is a season for everything! There is a set time for everything under the sun. On a physical level, during different seasons we use different types of skincare (this is the perfect time to regularly exfoliate to prep your skin for Spring!). There is also a set time for relationships, career changes/mobility, residence, etc. For today’s Monday Momentum, I would encourage you to be anxious for nothing. There is a set time for everything so there is no need to stress or worry about it.

Secrets of Natural Beauties

TGIF friends!! Where did the week go? We started the week with our Monday Momentum and now it is already Friday! I don’t know about you but this week has been busy, busy, and more busy!

Amidst all the work, I am proud to report that the healthy choice I made this week was to see a personal trainer for the first time ever in life! It was great. We went over the exercises I need to do and he advised me that as a woman, I should be doing resistance training 3-4 times per week. I should also incorporate cardio 6 days per week to lose weight. I am very excited to embark on this new workout journey! I have been very passionate about skincare since I started Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy and that passion led me to be more conscious about what I eat and also started my path to meditation. Now I am working on my body in regard to exercise. I am making healthy choices to have a healthy mind, body, and spirit in every area of my life!

Another discovery this week was finding www.wholeliving.com. This website is full of tips and ideas and the article that stood out to me this week was an article entitled, “7 Habits of Natural Beauties”. The article states Natural Beauties have the following habits:

1. Look for Natural Active Ingredients

2. Use Sunscreen

3. Love Antioxidants

4. Embrace Oil

5. Eat Good Fat, Fruits, and Veggies

6. Practice Yoga, Get Messages, and Reduce Stress

7. They Exercise.

You can read more detail about this article at www.wholeliving.com.

Until next time,

Monday Momentum - Healthy Choices

This weekend we were all stunned to hear of Whitney Houston passing away. It has been no secret that she dealt with many issues in her life; however, I personally remained hopeful for her comeback as I have always been a big fan of her music and her voice.

Today’s “Monday Momentum” is about making healthy choices in our lives. Today, think about the things you take (e.g. medications, alcohol, etc.) in order to manage your life. Are you making healthy choices? Are you facing your issues or are you masking them with various substances?

We all go through things in our lives whether we want to share them with people or not. With that said, let our momentum for this week be an awareness of how we are coping with pain, stress, and anxiety. Let’s make a conscious decision to replace one unhealthy habit with a beneficial habit. That may be replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts; replace coffee with green tea; replace conversations with people that bring you down with conversations with people that lift you up; replace worry and stress with prayer and meditation.

I am hoping you have a wonderful Monday and that you will have the momentum to carry you through the week. And remember, making healthy choices now will help you live the best life you can while you are here!

Epsom Salt

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I want to share with you all additional information about one of the ingredients in our Dead Sea Salt Bath Soaks – Epsom Salt. The primary ingredient in our Soaks is Dead Sea Salt and I have shared information about the salt’s beneficial qualities; however, Epsom Salt, which is also added to the Soaks, has very beneficial qualities as well.

Epsom Salt is also known as Magnesium sulfate. Researchers and physicians report that raising your magnesium levels may: improve heart and circulatory health, reduce irregular heartbeats, prevent hardening of the arteries, reduce blood clots, and lower blood pressure. The minerals in Epsom Salt are absorbed in your body when you soak and they aid in flushing toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances.

Epsom Salt is also reported to improve nerve function by regulating electrolytes. Calcium is the main conductor for electrical current in the body and magnesium is necessary to maintain proper calcium levels in the blood.

In addition, Epsom Salt relieves stress! Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium is necessary for the body to bind adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of well being and relaxation.

While increasing your magnesium levels, our Soaks also deliver sulfates, which are extremely difficult to get through food but which readily absorb through the skin. Medical research indicates sulfates are needed for the formation of brain tissue, joint proteins and the mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract. Sulfates also stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and help to detoxify the body's residue of medicines and environmental contaminants.

Take the time to soak on a regular basis and your body will thank you!

Monday Momentum – Relinquish Control!

Happy Monday friends! For this week’s “Monday Momentum” I thought about and wanted to illustrate relinquishing control! What I mean by that is letting go and allowing the natural flow of events. That doesn’t mean not taking responsibility for our actions, tasks, and requirements in life; rather, at least for me, it means letting go control of trying to figure out how everything is going to work out. We know we have things to do but sometimes we don’t know how we will get it done. The momentum today to get us through the week is the practice of letting go and just taking one step and one task at a time. Let us just trust that every small step we make will naturally lead us to the next step and all things will work together for our good in the end!

Wishing you all a fantastic Monday and remember….

Breathe!

Today is one of those crazy days that I have been running around like a crazy woman! If you know what I mean, raise your hand! ;)

When I have days like this, I have to remind myself to breathe! A friend of mine wrote the word "breathe" on a sticky note and gave it to me one day to place on my desk in front of me.

If you are like me, taking on a million projects at once, remember to breathe!
